Specializing in the most unique gifts, oddities and curiosities, Memento Mori has both old and new decor as well as hand crafted pieces for all to enjoy. We carry a nice selection of vintage medical instruments, natural history specimens, mounted insects, dark decor, jewelry and day of the dead art. Many one of a kind pieces and our prices are very affordable due to the fact we make or find so much of what we sell. Memento Mori isn't just a Gothic or Halloween store, but an oddities / curiosity shop full of the weird and wonderful for all. Stop in and be amazed! We are available for shoots as well. Book now!

After Necromance, sadly, closed their brick and mortar shop, there was a brief period in time where their combination of taxidermy and Victoriana was no where to be seen. I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement.
So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store.
There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet.
Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans.
So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 81431240Dec 13, 2023
probably one of the most beautiful stores i have ever visited.
i decided to treat myself on my birthday to something strange and macabre. parking was easy to find on a weekend morning!
i walked in and was immediately called to this raven perching on skulls incense burner. i bought it and it is my favorite burner to use. i also purchased a set of high quality sterling silver sword earrings and they are also my favorite accessory to this day.
the taxidermy here is gorgeous. the victorian era wallpaper is to die for. the glass domes everywhere and the framed insects are just perfectly placed. there are items that you wouldn't see everyday and that's exactly what i needed.
the staff is very kind and helpful. overall, i loved my visit and will be back for more.

This fascinating small shop is well worth a visit. It's dark, brooding, and creepy, with wares from games to jewelry to large and small decor items and many other categories. A really interesting collection. The staff member when we visited was patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and seemed genuinely interested in the customers. We easily found street parking a block from the store.
One random thought: I felt like Memento Mori was somewhat alone on its block, but around the corner started several blocks of shops and restaurants.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 75208625Sep 19, 2023
Super dope spot with artifacts you dont see daily. Real skeleton from animals and people all the way to beautiful artwork people have made. It's a small shop with a lot to see inside.

This was my 1st visit to Memento Mori, and it won't be my last. This is one amazing shop of gothic artwork, jewelry, novelties and decor. If you are into dark oddities then this is the place to go. The owner was friendly and professional, and we enjoyed conversing the goth LA scene. The decor of Memento Mori is impeccable and morbid...so goth! I LOVE IT!

Came in looking for a unique item for a dear friend, and was assisted by Mark to find it. He was incredibly helpful in helping me navigate the store and its plethora of items on display to find the perfect gift. Thank you Mark!

I live in the neighborhood, stumbled upon this beautiful place one day with friends. I was mesmerized upon walking into the store. Not only are the window displays beautifully put together, they are what initially draw you in. The person I encountered working there was so kind, helpful and patient ready to answer any and all questions. I perused the store and found some incredible items that I now hold very near and dear. I found a book from the 1800s, an original volume of the poet Byron. Incredible. You must visit this magical place if you're EVER in Hollywood !

Shopping at Memento Mori is like a journey into a world of darkness and beauty. I have been visiting the store for about a year now and have never been disappointed with their selection. From unique artwork to interesting decor and dark novelties, they have something for everyone. Every time I visit the store, I feel like I am discovering something new and exciting. Memento Mori is Los Angeles' most excellent gift store for dark novelties, art and decor is supremely artistic, beautifully curated and always strikingly original.

What an amazing store. You will def find you are looking for. I was intrigued by the old photographs still kept in their original casings from nearly 100 years ago.
Sculptures, tarot cards, candles, mummified animals. The list goes on.
Props for the staff being super cool about adjusting my price after realizing I forgot to present a discount code.
You guys are the best!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Alana H.CA, CA01519May 15, 2022
Pretty cool shop! I'm an avid collector of all things dark and spooky so I was excited to visit this place. I had walked by previously when it was closed and made a mental note to return during store hours.
My boyfriend and I walked in and I said hello to the worker and he responded with a "hello". We continued to shop around and look at all the different cases and interesting items. I was looking in a jewelry case that the employee was standing behind and I just thought it was a bit odd that no one asked me if I had questions or wanted to see anything. He just kind of stared into the distance instead of acknowledging or interacting with me. I know every store is a little different and I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot but I think in a specialty shop like this, a little "hey folks, feel free to look around. Let me know if you have any questions!" or something would have been appreciated.
Beautiful store and I love the theme though!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
