The open day at ExtraEnergy in Tanna, Thuringia, Germany, on May 24, 2014, is packed with pedelec experience to the visitor´s heart´s content. Pedelec test rides, Light-Electric-Vehicle (LEV) Museum and multi-image audiovisual entertainment through ice and fire promise an unforgettable electric two-wheeler adventure.

On 24 May 2014, ExtraEnergy invites to come to Koskauer Straße 100 in 07922 Tanna. Highlights of the event include pedelec test rides from 10.00 a.m. to 4 p.m, guided tours through the Light-Electric-Vehicle museum at 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. and multi-image audiovisual entertainment by Pedelec Adventures at 1.00 p.m. The doors are open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Audiovisual entertainment through ice and fire
Susanne Brüsch, journalist and head of Pedelec Adventures will take the audience on an absolutely unique journey on electric bikes. The destination will be Iceland – a country shaped by fire and ice, bright summers and dark winters. The adventure trip will lead through breathtaking scenery and pose completely new challenges for electric mobility. This is what the Pedelec Adventures team experienced in midsummer 2013 when the four adventure-proven pedelec pioneers faced the elements of the North while traveling four weeks and 4000 kilometers through Iceland's amazing landscapes.

Light-Electric-Vehicle evolution
At 10.30 a.m. and at 1.30 p.m., Hannes Neupert, president of ExtraEnerg e.V., will inform on past, present and future developements around LEVs. Visitors are warmly invited to ask questions on pedelecs and e-bikes, batteries, safety and the ExtraEnergy Pedelec and E-Bike Test.
Pedelec test rides
The guided tours through the LEV Museum will be followed by a guided pedelec tour on the ExtraEnergy test track in Tanna. In addition, pedelec test rides on the organization´s ground will be offered from 10.00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The famous local butcher „Reinhardt“ will serve original Thuringian Roster.

Pedelec test rides, LEV Museum and audiovisual entertainment will be free of charge.

About ExtraEnergy Test GmbH
ExtraEnergy Test GmbH is a subsidiary of ExtraEnergy e.V.. Since 2012, the ExtraEnergy Test GmbH is responsible for carrying out ExtraEnergy´s independent pedelec and e-bike tests.

The ExtraEnergy Test verdict is a recognised marker of a good product, offering customers reliable guidance for their purchases. The flip side of independent buying advice is straight-talking warnings about substandard products.

About ExtraEnergy e.V.
ExtraEnergy e.V. has carried out independent pedelec and e-bike tests since 1992. Since then the organisation has established itself as the most influential information, user protection and promotional organisation for light electric vehicles (LEVs) worldwide.
The founders realised from the start that these vehicles need to be experienced first-hand. The Test IT Track has been on the road since 1997, and today has three units for the Test IT Show. ExtraEnergy is also rooted at its test facility in Tanna, where 22 years of test reports and LEV history are on display at the LEV Museum.
Other services on offer include presentations and exhibitions at trade and public shows, plus information distribution with the assistance of correspondents worldwide.
Alongside our physical presence, www.extraenergy.org provides a treasure-house of information online. With support from the European Union and the IEA (International Energy Agency), in 2012 the GoPedelec! Handbook was published in German, English, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech, Italian, Spanish and Chinese, including much new information and best practice studies for electric-assist two-wheelers.
As founding members of the EnergyBus and BATSO (Battery Safety Organization) associations, ExtraEnergy is also active on both the ISO (International Standards Organisation) Standards Committee, with a focus on mechanical standardisation, and on the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and so helps set safety and communication standards for LEVs worldwide.
