ExtraEnergy e-motion at INTERMOT

Forecast: record number of visitors on the test track

5th to 9th October 2016, INTERMOT, Cologne. ExtraEnergy is organising the test track and the Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) Components Special Exhibition in Hall 5.2, the e-motion hall. 30,000 test rides are expected on the test track.

Every since 2010, INTERMOT e-motion has been delivering a boost to all matters electro-mobility at this international motorbike, scooter and e-bike trade fair in Cologne.

Forecast: record number of visitors on the test track
For 2016, ExtraEnergy is once again organising the pedelec and e-bike test track in Hall 5.2, and the LEV Components Special Exhibition.

"In 2014 we achieved a record for the ExtraEnergy test track, with 5,130 individual registered test riders. That means that every day there were over 1,000 participants on the test track”, reflects Hannes Neupert, Chairman of ExtraEnergy e.V. "In recent years, however, the interest in test riding of pedelecs at INTERMOT has increased non-stop. So for 2016 we expect a further increase in the number of participants. For this year we anticipate around 8,000 test riders on the track, and from decades of experience that means that we can count on around 30,000 test rides. The test track at INTERMOT will be the most-visited pedelec test riding event from ExtraEnergy in 2016."

Simple and easy to participate
Katja Söhner-Bilo, Managing Partner, Binova GmbH, said "Thanks to ExtraEnergy and taking part on the Test IT Track, it was very simple, and involved little effort, for Binova flow to participate here at the show in Taipei.”

Clear product demonstration
"All of the major component and system manufacturers are represented on these display walls", explained Peter Broghammer (Business Development Director, E-Mobility Marquardt GmbH). "So it is vital that were are here too, exhibiting alongside them. The great thing is that anyone interested can get an overview of practically every component in a single place. Another advantage is that I myself can look over the latest products from our fellow participants in the market. Furthermore, here I have the opportunity to walk over with interested visitors, present the product, explain the technical details and right on the spot I can point out the differences against competitor products, because everything is clearly laid out all on one table. This lets me clearly demonstrate the advantages of our products in comparison to our competitor's products."

Participating companies to date include: DK, DLG, Bafang, Shanghai YingYu Electronics, EnergyBUS e.V., BATSO e.V., Greenway Battery Co., Ltd., TD HITECH ENERGY INC., IDbike, BionX International Cooperation, pironex GmbH, Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. About ExtraEnergy
ExtraEnergy has carried out independent e-bike and pedelec tests since 1992. Since then the organisation has established itself as the most influential information, user protection and promotional organisation for light electric vehicles (LEVs) worldwide.

The founders realised from the start that these vehicles need to be experienced first-hand. Since 1997 the Test IT Track has been on the road, and today has three units for the Test IT Show. ExtraEnergy is also rooted at its test facility in Tanna, where 24 years of test reports and LEV history are on display at the LEV Museum.

Other services on offer include presentations and exhibitions at trade and public shows, plus information distribution with the assistance of correspondents worldwide.

Alongside our physical presence, www.extraenergy.org provides a treasure-house of information online. With support from the European Union and the IEA (International Energy Agency), in 2012 the Go Pedelec! Handbook was published in German, English, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech, Italian, Spanish and Chinese, including much new information and best practice studies for electric-assist two-wheelers.

As founding members of the EnergyBus and BATSO (Battery Safety Organisation) associations, ExtraEnergy is also active on both the ISO (International Standards Organisation) Standards Committee, with a focus on mechanical standardisation, and on the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and so helps set safety and communication standards for LEVs worldwide.
