Back to the roots! – unter diesem Motto bringt die Country Night Gstaad am 8. und 9. September 2017 mit Mark Chesnutt und Rhonda Vincent zwei ehemalige „Gstaader Künstler“ zurück auf die Bühne. Rhonda hat sich mittlerweile in der Bluegrass-Szene als Nr. 1 etabliert. Zudem wird das Nachwuchstalent Mo Pitney, durch und durch Traditionalist, mit seinem Debütalbum „Behind This Guitar“ die Country-Fans in Verzückung versetzen. Stephanie Urbina Jones mit mexikanisch-texanischen Wurzeln rundet das vielfältige Lineup der Hauptbühne ab. In der Dance Hall wird nach den Konzerten das Quintett The Deslondes aus New Orleans zum Tanz und Zuhören aufspielen.

Dear Country Night Gstaad Fans,
Back to the roots! Under this motto two former ‚Gstaad Artists’, Mark Chesnutt and Rhonda Vincent, will return to the Country Night Gstaad stage on September 8 and 9, 2017. Rhonda has now established itself as the No. 1 in the Bluegrass scene. In addition, up-and-coming talent, Mo Pitney, a traditionalist through and through, will thrill country fans with his debut album ‚Behind This Guitar’. Stephanie Urbina Jones with her Mexican-Texan roots will round off the multifaceted line-up on the main stage. After the concerts The Deslondes, the quintet from New Orleans, will invite you to take to dance floor or merely look on in the dance hall.

Im Jahr 1990 gelang Mark gleich mit seinem ersten Album «Too Cold At Home» der Durchbruch. Seitdem hat der Traditionalist dreizehn weitere Alben auf den Markt gebracht, alle mit guten Chart-Platzierungen. Trotz dieser Plattenerfolge gilt seine wahre Liebe der Bühne. Mit seiner unverkennbar starken Stimme wird er erneut das Gstaader Publikum begeistern.

Mark’s breakthrough came with his very first album ’Too Cold At Home’ in 1990. Since then the traditionalist has released a further thirteen albums, all reaching good chart positions. Despite these recording successes, the stage is his first love. His unmistakably strong voice will surely enthral the Gstaad audience again..

Ab Januar 2017 moderieren Regi Sager und Mike LaMarr die Sendung «Country Special» auf Radio SRF 1 im Wechsel. Die Redaktion übernimmt Roland Lüthi. Die drei folgen auf die langjährigen «Country Special»-Macher Geri Stocker und Christoph Schwegler, die in Pension gehen.
Das Team der Country Night Gstaad dankt den beiden international anerkannten Country-Experten Geri Stocker und Christoph Schwegler für ihren jahrzehntelangen (!) Einsatz für die Country-Musik in der Schweiz und im Speziellen für die Country Night Gstaad. Thank you very much!

As of January 2017 Regi Sager and Mike LaMarr will alternate with each other to present the programme Country Special on radio SRF 1. Roland Lüthi will be the new editor. They will be taking the place of longstanding Country Special producers, Geri Stocker and Christoph Schwegler who are retiring.
The Country Night Gstaad team wishes to express their gratitude to Geri Stocker and Christoph Schwegler, two internationally recognised country music connoisseurs, for their decades-long(!) commitment to country music in Switzerland and, in particular, to the Country Night Gstaad.
