MetallArt starts public limited company in Switzerland

The public limited company trading under the name "MetallArt Treppen AG" is based in the Canton of Aargau. Our entire service portfolio is available to the target group in Switzerland: single components and complete stair structures as well as sophisticated constructions for all-glass railings.

The core business, however, focuses on sculptural staircases which are permanently designed by using the latest technical options. The exceptional know-how, the proximity to the customers as well as the close cooperation with architects and owners will be surely decisive for the successful positioning on the Swiss market.

Actually we are already looking back to some successful projects in Switzerland, e.g. the sculptural stairs for a hotel and a thermal bath as well as the staircase in an office building. The formation of the public limited company enables us to enlarge our market presence to an even greater extend.

Stairs in modern design at Longchamp in Munich

Since the end of 2014 the fashionable label Longchamp has been located with its own shop in an exclusive shopping mile in Munich together with other luxury brands. The staircase made by MetallArt blends in perfectly in the store's stylish interior. The inner railing is made of laminated safety glass. Furthermore the glass panes are designed in white glass which reinforces the elegant character of the staircase.

The railing is bordered with a filigree U-channel section made of a high-gloss polished stainless steel U-channel section to protect the upper edges. On the opposite site our experts inserted an oval-shaped wooden handrail made of solid beech.

Another special feature is the smooth underside cladding. It was realised with straight and ascending as well as three-dimensionally bent steel sheets. For the lighting laser cut notches were added.

Elegant spiral ramp at the furniture store Segmüller

The spiral ramp was made of steel sections realised according to DIN 18065. It is running curved as well as straight and offers a flight width of 2,400 mm to the customers. There are welded glass pockets on both sides to accommodate the all-glass railings. The glass pockets and also the semicircular coverings to mask the edges are welded with the supporting substructure.

The all-glass railing for the construction of the ramp shows a stainless steel handrail. It is made of a round tube with a groove. Of course, MetallArt designed the all-glass railing according to the current regulations of DIN 18008 and the General Test Certificate of the German Building Authorities (abP). Furthermore, the all-glass railing at the slab edges corresponds to the railing of the ramp.

Just recently MetallArt won the Federal Award for outstanding innovative performances in craft trades. The price was awarded for the supporting construction which is also part of this project. The specialists in staircase design realised laser cut notches for the illumination of the underside soffit lining of the ramp.
