		Vortrag / Lecture    Die Musiker und Klangforscher Tatiana López und Carlos Gutiérrez gehören in Bolivien dem Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos (OEIN) an, das sich mit indigenen und zeitgenössischen Klangvorstellungen auseinandersetzt. In ihrem Vortrag berichten sie über ihre Forschung zur Tuaillu-Musik, einer traditionellen Musikform, die seinerzeit stark verwurzelt war in den kulturellen Praktiken der indigenen Gemeinschaften im Norden von La Paz, seit rund fünfzig Jahren aber kaum noch gespielt wird. Die Recherchen führten López und Gutiérrez zur indigenen Dorfgemeinschaft von Upinhuaya wie in verschiedene Archive, in denen sie nach Klangarchiven und Transkriptionen suchten. Mithilfe traditioneller Blasinstrumente wie Siku und Tarka führen sie ein in Konzepte und Ansätze der indigenen Musik in Bolivien und zeigen ihre Ansätze zur klanglichen Rekreation der Tuaillu-Musik.   In Kooperation mit dem Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD und der Botschaft von Bolivien Auf Spanisch / Español -------------------- Musicians and sound researchers Tatiana López and Carlos Gutiérrez belong in Bolivia to the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos (OEIN), which examines and explores indigenous and contemporary sound concepts. In their lecture they will talk about their research on Tuaillu music, a traditional music form that was at one time deeply rooted in the cultural practices of the indigenous communities of northern La Paz but has rarely been played for almost fifty years. Their research led López and Gutiérrez to the indigenous village community of Upinhuaya and to various archives in search of sound archives and transcriptions. Using traditional wind instruments such as the Siku and the Tarka, they introduce the concepts and approaches of indigenous music in Bolivia and demonstrate their approaches to recreating the sounds of Tuaillu music. 		Konzert / Concert    Instrumente, Schriften, Archive sind Erinnerungsgefäße für Klangvorstellungen und Klanglandschaften aus der Zeit vor der Kolonialisierung und Globalisierung. Sie bieten Zugänge, sich aus einer zeitgenössischen musikalischen Perspektive neu mit ihren Inhalten zu befassen. Die eingeladenen Musiker*innen tun dies aus unterschiedlichen Blickwinkeln und auf unterschiedliche Weise. Das bolivianische Duo Gutierrez/Lopez erforscht indigene Klangvorstellungen über prehispanische Instrumente und eigene, selbsterfundene Instrumente. Diese treten über die Naturmetapher und ein kollektives Prinzip in einen Dialog mit Klängen von Vogel- und Flöteninstrumenten der beiden Echtzeitmusikerinnen Sabine Vogel und Ute Wassermann. Der Klangkünstler und Dichter Yan Jun aus China und die Performerin, Künstlerin und Dichterin Liping Ting aus Taiwan begegnen sich erstmals zu einer Poetry Action, in der sie alte philosophische Schriften Chinas und eigene Texte in eine performative und elektronische Rahmung betten. Im letzten Teil des Konzertes erneuern Robert Machiri (bekannt als Duo mit Memory Biwas unter PUNGWE) und der Jazz-Schlagzeuger Tumi Mogorosi, beide aus Johannesburg, Samples aus ethnologischen Archiven afrikanischer Musik mit technologischen Mitteln, Rhythmisierungen und dem ästhetischen Zugriff des Remix, um postkoloniale Fragen nach Authentizität, Aneignung und Transformation zu stellen. They offer points of access for readdressing their content from a contemporary musical perspective. Invited musicians achieve this from a variety of viewpoints and in various ways. Bolivian duo Gutierrez/Lopez explores indigenous sound concepts using pre-Hispanic instruments and their own self-invented instruments. These enter into dialogue with the sounds of bird and flute instruments produced by the improvisers Sabine Vogel and Ute Wassermann using nature as metaphor as well as a collective principle. Chinese sound artist and poet Yan Jun and Taiwanese performer, artist, and poet Liping Ting meet for the first time for a Poetry Action, embedding ancient Chinese philosophical writings and their own texts within a performative and electronic framework. For the final concert segment, Robert Machiri (known as part of the duo PUNGWE with Memory Biwa) and jazz drummer Tumi Mogorosi, both from Johannesburg, breathe new life into samples found in ethnological archives of African music using technological means, the addition of new rhythms, and a remix aesthetic in order to pose postcolonial questions about authenticity, appropriation, and transformation. 		Aleksandra Jach im Gespräch mit Agnieszka Brzeżenańska und Ewa Ciepielewska über das Projekt »Flow« / Aleksandra Jach in conversation with Agnieszka Brzeżenańska and Ewa Ciepielewska about the project »Flow« In den kommenden Jahren werden die Migrationsströme als eine Konsequenz des Klimawandels weiter anwachsen. Aufgrund der extremen Wetterbedingungen sowie der extraktiven Politik von Regierungen und Unternehmen sind Menschen gezwungen, ihr Land zu verlassen. Weder eine globale Perspektive in Form von postnationalen institutionellen Organen, noch die Rückkehr zu einer Politik der Nationalstaaten oder zu den ethnischen Wurzeln bietet eine Lösung für die planetarischen Herausforderungen.  Darum müssen Fragen, die um die Relevanz und Vielschichtigkeit von Land kreisen, von funktionsunfähigen modernen Kategorien und Ökonomien entkoppelt und stattdessen mithilfe von materiellen und spirituellen Praktiken des täglichen Lebens neu überdacht werden. Die eingeladenen Künstler*innen der Veranstaltungssreihe beziehen sich in ihren Arbeiten auf verschiedene Formen von Verbundenheit zu Land. Dabei fragen sie nach den Bedingungen für Zugehörigkeit und dem Recht, nicht enteignet zu werden. Sie beschäftigen sich mit der Gefahr biologisch konstruierter Identitäten und dem Druck, dem jene gesellschaftlichen Gruppen ausgesetzt sind, die sich der Hypermodernisierung nicht fügen wollen. Wenn Politik dort beginnt, wo Territorium identifiziert wird, regen die eingeladenen Künstler*innen dazu an, neue Wege zu finden, »Territorium« als Lebensraum zu definieren.  »Attachment to Land« ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe mit Agnieszka Brzeżenańska, Carolina Caycedo, Ewa Ciepielewska, Aleksandra Jach, Xu Tan und anderen.  -------------------- In the years to come, migrant flows will only increase as a result of climate change. People are being forced to leave their lands by the extreme weather conditions as well as the extractivist politics of governments and corporations. Those who do stay have to make up new ways of living and acts of resistance. But how this can be done is neither from a global perspective in the form of post-national institutional bodies, nor as a return to nation-state politics and ethnic roots: none of the existing models can provide a solution for planetary challenges. This is why the question of land needs to be disjointed from inoperative modern categories and economies, and instead thought through material-spiritual practices of everyday life. The artists invited to this series will touch upon alternative ways of attachment to land; they draw from their personal experiences or collective alliances with the human and the beyond human. The artists claim the conditions of belonging somewhere and the rights to not being dispossessed. Just as they consider the danger of biologically constructed identities and the pressures placed on groups who choose not to adapt to hyper-modernization.
