International lecture series on water management successfully concluded
Together with its partners, the University of Bonn and UNU-Flores and researchers from six continents, TU Dresden made an essential contribution to scientists’ cross-border exchange in the interdisciplinary research field of water management. "Cooperation in Water Management - Tackling a Global Challenge", so the official title, has demonstrated once more, what is most urgently needed at this time: transnational scientific cooperation.
From early November to mid-December, scientists from 20 different research institutions and universities presented and discussed their research findings on how to cope with the evolving water scarcity in Chile, with various climate risks or how to achieve SDG 6 – clean water and sanitation – in Tunisia and Pakistan and much more. Equally closely involved, were TU Dresden's strategic partner in Delft.
With over 600 registrations from more than 40 countries worldwide, the lecture series successfully achieved the goal of bringing this topic closer to the general public and linking research with current, tangible challenges. For the TU Dresden and the participating institutions, this is a further step towards even closer cooperation between the association of United Nations Universities and their partnering institutions in the future.
The program is supported and supervised by the Strategy and Internationalization Department. More information about the lecture series and the Rector of TU Dresden’s closing remarks, Prof Dr Staudinger, can be found on the event website.
