Generation Equality Forum
The 2021 Generation Equality Forum was a global gathering for gender equality convened by UN Women and co-hosted by the governments of Mexico and France, in partnership with youth and civil society. The Forum kicked off in Mexico City in March and culminated in Paris from 30 June to 2 July 2021, bringing together governments, corporations and change makers from around the world to define and announce ambitious investments and policies.
The Forum generated USD 40 billion in financial commitments as well as multiple policy and programme commitments. The Forum’s ambitious action agenda will be driven by multi-stakeholder Action Coalitions, who together developed a Global Acceleration Plan to advance gender equality. These diverse stakeholders have embarked on a five-year journey to accelerate equality, leadership, and opportunity for women and girls worldwide. This work will culminate in 2026.

Generation Equality Forum in Mexico
The Forum kicked off in Mexico from 29 to 31 March 2021, reinvigorating action and movements for gender equality. It engaged an estimated 10,000 people, including more than 250 speakers from 85 countries. Read more about the Forum in Mexico.
Generation Equality Forum in Paris
The Generation Equality Forum in Paris took place from 30 June to 2 July 2021. The Forum launched a five-year action journey to achieve irreversible progress towards gender equality, founded on a series of concrete, ambitious, and transformative actions, including USD 40 billion in financial commitments.
