Santander Scholarship courses for TUD alumni

TU Dresden has been a member of Santander Universities for many years. This has enabled the university to benefit from a wide range of funding opportunities, including the Deutschlandstipendium for students, scholarships for internships, and last but not least, continuing education courses for TUD alumni. One current opportunity worth highlighting is a scholarship for a five-day stay in Valencia, Spain.
Santander Scholarships Language | English to Boost Your Career 2022
In collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania, Santander Universities is offering fully funded places for the English to Boost Your Career 2022 scholarship program. The five-week online course is geared towards those who would like to improve their English skills, either for work or study purposes. Participants can choose between the following courses, depending on their interests and profession:
• English for professional development
• English for business & entrepreneurship
• English for science, technology, engineering & mathematics
The courses are taught entirely online and are free of charge. Course participants will expand their vocabulary and improve their language skills in their chosen area of study. To take part in the course, you should have a B1 level of English. After completing the course, participants with an average grade of 70% or above will be awarded a certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.

Santander Scholarships | Young Leaders for Education Program
With the fifth International Rectors’ Summit taking place in Valencia in 2023, Santander has teamed up with the University of Valencia to offer 60 scholarships for a 5-day stay in Spain. Each scholarship covers all costs and enables the scholarship holder to participate in the training and cultural program of the International Rectors’ Summit in Valencia in 2023. The following courses are offered in Spanish and in English – participants are free to select the appropriate language of instruction.
This scholarships give 60 young people from the participating countries the opportunity to share their vision for the future of education, thus empowering them to contribute to the various thematic focuses of the summit. Scholarship holders will receive coaching from professors at the University of Valencia in online sessions during the weeks leading up to on-site events during their stay at the summit. The online training will be carried out in five sessions, addressing the three key themes of the Rectors Summit:
- Lifelong learning
- Promoting entrepreneurship and innovation
- Developing networks and interconnection between universities
The training sessions include instruction on leadership and communication skills, such as how to create an elevator pitch or give effective presentations. The scholarship covers all costs for travel, accommodation and meals. The 60 scholarship holders will also receive an additional financial grant of 1,000 euros.
Application period: From October 7 until December 10, 2022
Who can apply:
• Students (of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs), doctoral students and graduates
• Who live in one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK, Uruguay or USA
Application process:
The application documents may be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
PHASE I
- You must fulfill the eligibility requirements.
- Complete the application form.
- Pass a skills test, which will be sent after your application is received.
PHASE II
The top 500 applicants will receive a message from Santander Scholarships, asking them to send the following documents:
• A 500-word letter of motivation explaining why you wish to participate in the program.
• Answer the question: What is your vision for the future of education? (Max. 1,000 words)
• LinkedIn profile
• CV
• A selection committee at the University of Valencia is responsible for allocating the 60 scholarships and will check to see that you fulfill the criteria. Subsequently, the information provided will be reviewed to ensure that the successful scholarship holders fulfill the profile criteria and represent a wide range of geographic locations and disciplines.
