Proofreading Grants

The Graduate Academy supports the following print and online publications by doctoral candidates:

• specific chapters of the dissertation (publication or publisher's version)
• essays (full paper)
• extended abstracts
• exposés
• essays
• reviews in journals
• contributions to anthologies
• conference contributions
• publications in connection with exhibits

Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to apply for proofreading grants for their third-party funding proposals.

Doctoral Positions in the Hector Fellow Academy

The Hector Fellow Academy is offering fully funded doctoral positions of up to 4 years.
Ambitious young researchers have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate with a Hector Fellow or Hector RCD Awardee in the fields of STEM, psychology or medicine.

• A. Stephen Hashmi (Chemistry): Application with own research idea in the field of Homogeneous Gold Catalysis
• Wolfgang Wernsdorfer (Physics/Chemistry): PhD Project on Hybrid Quantum Architecture for Single Spin Readout with a Superconducting Qubit
• Eberhart Zrenner (Biology/Engineering/Medicine): PhD Project on Inducible CRISPR Gene Editing System to Target Common USH2A Mutations in Patients with Usher Syndrome and Retinitis Pigmentosa

Doctoral Candidates

Krupp-Foundation Fellowship for Visiting Student Researchers at Stanford

The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation announces its scholarship program "The Krupp-Foundation Fellowship for Visiting Student Researchers at Stanford". The foundation invites doctoral candidates in the humanities to apply for funding for a stay at Stanford University as part of their doctoral thesis.
The Krupp Foundation will award three scholarships for a period of up to 6 months. The scholarship is endowed with 3,000 euros per month. The foundation will provide a one-off grant of 3,000 euros to cover travel costs and visa fees.

IQ-Innovationspreis Mitteldeutschland 2024

The IQ Innovationspreis Mitteldeutschland awards marketable products, processes and services that have been on the market for less than two years. A total of over 60,000 euros in prize money is awarded as part of the competition.
The prize is primarily aimed at young entrepreneurs (start-ups), founders, students and researchers.

Franz Stolze Prize 2024

With the Franz Stolze Prize, donated by Dr. Manfred Freimark and Gudrun Stolze, TU Dresden annually honors outstanding scientific theses by students and dissertations by young scientists at TU Dresden in the field of energy technology. The "Franz Stolze Prize 2024" is endowed with 1,500 euros.
University lecturers at TU Dresden are eligible to nominate candidates for the Franz Stolze Prize. The respective theses should have been completed and successfully defended between April 2023 and the submission deadline.

FameLab Germany in Dresden

Use FameLab as a career stepping stone into professional science communication! In front of an audience and jury, you will be given three minutes on stage to explain a scientific topic of your choice as convincingly and engagingly as possible. You will receive professional coaching from NaWik (National Institute for Science Communication) in advance and can win up to 300 euros in prize money. A regional preliminary round will take place at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden on April 18, 2024.
The two winners of the preliminary round will then compete in the grand German final in Bielefeld on June 12, 2024. The winner of the national final in Bielefeld will go on to represent Germany on the international stage!

MAKE YOUR RESEARCH VISIBLE - AT TU'S SCIENCE SLAM 2024!

As a female researcher, do you enjoy communicating your research topic to a wide audience in a clear, informative and entertaining way? Then take part in the Science Slam at the Long Night of Science at TU Dresden on 14.06.2024! The slam offers female scientists a unique stage to inspire a large audience for their own research topic in just 10 minutes. The aim is to win the favor of the audience, as they vote on their personal favorite contribution. If required, a coach will support the researchers in their preparation. Are you interested?
