News 06/2019 – #LINO19 Finally Started

On Sunday, 30 June, the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting finally started with engaging addresses by Countess Bettina Bernadotte, Anja Karliczek, German Federal Minister for Education and Research, and Nobel Laureate Brian Schmidt. In his impassionate keynote, the laureate in physics from 2011, made an argument for open science and argued for scientists to push boundaries and to get involved in society.

To start off the scientific programme on Monday, the 2018 Nobel Laureates Donna Strickland and Gérard Mourou gave insightful lectures on high-intensity laser physics. Videos of the lectures and discussions of #LINO19 can be watched in our mediatheque.
