Dear alumni,

An eventful summer lies behind us. As you step out of the train station now, the Forum Wissen, which we opened on 4 June after years of preparation, awaits your visit on your righthand side. On 1400 m² of exhibition space, the basic exhibition and changing special exhibitions invite you to engage in a dialogue between science and society and provide insights into the creation of knowledge. If you have not had a chance yet, we look forward to seeing you there soon!
Our Night of Knowledge and Alumni Day on 9 July also brought many alumni to Göttingen with more than 420 interactive, entertaining and knowledgeable programme items and offered opportunities for exchange and reunions.

We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the Deutschlandstipendium. We live in extremely uncertain times. For many young people, they are associated with worries and fears about the future. With the Deutschlandstipendium, we can make a difference. How many scholarships we can grant depends on the amount of money donated. And the best thing is: every euro donated is doubled by the federal government. I, too, am a big fan of the idea of the Deutschlandstipendium and, for example, donate fees for my lectures or books in favour of scholarships. It would be great if you would also support the programme with a donation. At no other German university are so many alumni already involved in the programme as here in Göttingen. But we can always do better! And at this time, our students need all of our support more than ever! Should you even decide to take up a whole scholarship, I promise to send you a book signed by me titled "Geschüttelt, nicht gerührt! James Bond im Visier der Physik". At this link it is possible to donate online until 7 October and to find out more about the Deutschlandstipendium.

Feel free to forward this email to former fellow students and help us expand our network. Interested alumni can register for future University newsletters here.

Do you have feedback for us? Feel free to contact the Alumni Relations Team at any time at alumni@uni-goettingen.de.

Enjoy reading and best regards from Göttingen

Overseas Korean - Intercultural Exchange via Podcast
How does university life differ in Germany and South Korea, what is kimchi and why have South Koreans been living in Germany since the 1970s? These are some of the questions that I-Jin Yoon, who studies social sciences, and business student Li Liang address in their podcast series "Overseas Korean". With their interviews, they want to impart knowledge and promote intercultural exchange.

New university logo
The previous logo with a double intertwined G and A has accompanied us for many decades. Now it has been replaced by a more modern, universally applicable design, but without throwing history and tradition overboard. The new logo also reflects the mission statement from the time of the founding: IN PUBLICA COMMODA.
For reasons of sustainability, a gradual transition is taking place so that existing materials with the old logo are used up.

"Nutri-Score" kann irreführenden Zuckerangaben entgegenwirken
How helpful is the Nutri-Score for consumers to make conscious decisions for a healthy lifestyle? Researchers at our university studied the significance of the Nutri-Score, which is a label that indicates the overall nutritional quality of a food. They found that the label can counteract misleading advertising slogans about the amount of added sugar in food.
