Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL)

The Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) has become the point of contact for all aspects of teaching at TU Dresden. Thus, the ZiLL takes over this task from the Center for Continuing Education.

Courses in didactics are organized in close cooperation with the Center for Higher Education Didactics in Saxony (HDS). They are open and free of charge to all teaching staff of TU Dresden.

Young Leaders Academy | EUTOPIA

The EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy (YLA) promotes and connects researchers from all EUTOPIA partner universities, supporting their career development and interdisciplinary scientific exchange.

Twenty fellows (2 per EUTOPIA university) are given the opportunity to be ambassadors: in the EUTOPIA Alliance for two years. A mobility budget of 5,000 euros is available for this purpose. Applicants must be employed at the TUD or head a junior research group.

Proofreading Grants for Doctoral Candidates & Postdocs | GA

The Graduate Academy supports the following print and online publications by doctoral candidates:

- specific chapters from the dissertation (publication or publisher's version)
- Essays (full paper)
- extended abstracts
- exposés
- essays
- Reviews in journals
- Contributions to anthologies
- conference contributions
- Publications in connection with exhibits

Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to apply for proofreading grants for their third-party funding proposals.

Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose Academy Award for Humanities

The Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose Academy Prize, sponsored by the Akademie der Wissenschaften and the Kalkhof-Rose Foundation, is aimed at excellent young researchers in the Humanities. It is endowed with 5,000 €.

Heinz Maier-Leibnitz-Preis | DFG

The DFG presents the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize annually to acknowledge and motivate exceptional researchers. In 2024, ten awards worth 200,000 € each will be given out. The prize is intended for scientists who are still in the early stages of their careers, with the goal of helping them continue their work in academia and attain a permanent professorship.

Copernicus-Preis 2024 | DFG

With the Copernicus Award, the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Foundation for Polish Science (Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej, FNP) honor researchers who are successfully active in German-Polish research cooperation.

The award is open to all disciplines. The prize money of 200,000 € will be divided equally between the two recipients. The funds should be used to intensify German-Polish research cooperation further.

Georg-Helm-Preis 2023 | TU Dresden

The TU Dresden and the Association for the Promotion of Students of the Dresden University of Technology (Verein zur Förderung von Studierenden der Technischen Universität Dresden e. V.) annually honor three outstanding scientific theses. Therefore, each faculty and central scientific institution of TU Dresden can propose, among others, a dissertation.

The work must be finished and defended between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.

Heimspiel Wissenschaft

Heimspiel Wissenschaft brings scientists from rural regions back to their hometowns. There, they talk about what, how, and why they research and what this has to do with our lives. In this way, science and research become tangible in the pub around the corner, community center, sports clubhouse, or village square.
