In just a few days, the lecture period of the winter semester will start and we are looking forward to welcoming our students and researchers back to campus after a quiet summer period. For you the opportunity to return to your alma mater will soon present itself as well, as we would like to warmly invite you to this year's
Alumni Day weekend on 3 and 4 November. Take the opportunity to explore your former faculty, take part in lectures and guided tours, and join the Alumni-Party at the Alte Mensa on Wilhelmsplatz. A diverse programme awaits your visit.
In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the Deutschlandstipendium. A new funding year is coming up, which will enable us to support committed and promising young people along their educational path and offer them the best possible opportunities. The Deutschlandstipendium is a unique programme that combines private donations with public funds. Each donation is doubled by the federal government and is also tax-deductible. With 300 euros per month, the scholarship holders not only receive a contribution to financing their studies, the Deutschlandstipendium also opens doors to networks, companies and new perspectives. Therefore, we are hoping for your support.
You can
donate online, either an amount of your choice into the alumni support pot or for a whole scholarship. Should you even choose the latter, I promise to send you a book signed by me titled "Geschüttelt, nicht gerührt! James Bond im Visier der Physik".
Feel free to forward this newsletter to former fellow students and help us expand our network. Interested alumni can register for future University newsletters
here.
