The Environment Commission is funding several sustainability projects at TU Dresden

This year, the Environment Commission is funding four measures that make a valuable contribution to the sustainable development of TUD. The following projects will receive financial support: The student-organized course "SustainAbility - Understanding and Implementing Sustainability" and the construction of a demonstrator for oil-free heat pumps to train students. Funding is also provided for an electric cargo bike in hydrosciences for the sustainable transportation of samples, teaching materials and other technology as well as for the Plants and Care group, as it allows teaching to be combined with practical green space maintenance on campus.

The slam offers women in science a stage to present their own research to a broad audience. The scientists will have 10 minutes to get the audience excited about their research topic – then it’s up to the public to decide which contribution wins. The researchers will be offered free coaching to help them prepare.

Safe handling of hazardous substances

Many employees handle hazardous substances (e. g. methanol, dimethylformamide, tetrachloroethene). In addition to occupational health and safety measures, participation in preventive occupational health care provides the opportunity to receive advice from a Medical Officer and to be examined for possible health risks, e. g. through blood analysis. You can register for an appointment via Occupational Health Services

Countering prejudice: A campaign by the German Depression Aid Foundation

The German Depression Aid and Suicide Prevention Foundation is currently running a poster campaign to draw attention to the many faces of depression. As this serious illness is often not recognizable at first glance, the campaign cleverly breaks through existing clichés and encourages people to inform themselves and seek help. The psychological counseling service of TUD's Health Service is on hand as a first point of contact for those affected, relatives and colleagues.
