It gives insights into his everyday life at the National Taiwan University (NTU) and shows what Taiwan has to offer culturally. Prof. Jürgen Czarske honored with the SPIE Dennis Gabor Award in Diffractive Optics

Prof. Jürgen Czarske, Chair of Measurement and Sensor System Technique, has been awarded the SPIE Dennis Gabor Award in Diffractive Optics 2024. The prize is awarded annually by the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). SPIE thus honors the Dresden scientist for his significant contributions to the development of digital holography and related techniques for biomedicine, fiber communication, imaging, information processing and laser measurement technology. The award ceremony took place on August 21, 2024 during a banquet at the Air and Space Museum San Diego.

The lecturer for high-voltage overhead lines at the Chair of Components of Intelligent Energy Networks Hon.-Prof. Dr. techn. Dr.-Ing. habil. Konstantin O. Papailiou was elected President of CIGRE on 27.08.2024 in Paris. CIGRE (Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques) is an international professional organization that focuses on the field of energy transmission and distribution. The CIGRE Session takes place every two years and is the organization's largest event. You can find an interview here.

The Faculty congratulates 50 years of graduation with the presentation of the Golden Diploma Certificate

On September 11, 2024, around 60 alumni of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering met in the Görges Building at TU Dresden to receive their golden diploma certificates. The meeting of graduates from the class of 1974 was accompanied by Prof. Hans Georg Krauthäuser, Susann Mayer, Head of the Alumni Office TUD, and the Doctoral Examinations Office of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The presentation of the certificates took place in the lecture hall of the Görges Building and was accompanied by the MDR Sachsenspiegel camera team.
