Expert opinion on the collapse of the Carola Bridge: Prof. Steffen Marx presents the results of the investigation

Prof. Steffen Marx from the Institute of Concrete Structures at TU Dresden presented his expert opinion on the causes of the collapse of the Carola Bridge to the City of Dresden's building committee. In conjunction with material fatigue caused by the daily traffic load, the main cause of the bridge's collapse was therefore corrosion damage to steel elements that occurred during the bridge's construction.

A vision for the future of Dresden's Postplatz 2045

What could Postplatz look like in the future? A new graphic vision shows a surprisingly green and lively perspective for this central traffic junction. In the photorealistic image, the square is transformed into an oasis of green and blue: green roofs and façades, unsealed open spaces and water features as well as a large number of new trees give it the atmosphere of a park and thus a completely new quality of stay. The image is intended as an invitation to everyone in Dresden to get involved in creating a city worth living in for the future.
