Interesting Facts for Jewelers and Goldsmiths
Champagne Diamonds are simple and classic in appearance. They stand out for their elegant and discrete charm. Their colours can range from soft to intense brown and from cool brown to an orangey, almost reddish shade. Whether set as a single stone, used to enhance other stones or part of a pavé setting, Champagne Diamonds blend beautifully with various precious metal tones, and can be used to create contrasts or soft colour gradients.

C1 - C2 Light Champagne (light brown)
C3 - C4 Medium Champagne (medium brown)
C5 - C6 Dark Champagne (dark brown)
C7 Cognac (very dark to reddish brown)

Our new colour card provides support for making colour choices and allows for a knowledgeable sales pitch when dealing with the final customer.

Although prices for Champagne Diamonds have increased significantly due to great demand, higher prices for rough diamonds and a lower flow rate, they are still some of the least expensive Natural Coloured Diamonds.

Colour Development and Origin
The natural colour of Champagne Diamonds results from a deformation of the crystal structure caused by extreme heat and very high pressure beneath the earth’s surface. As a result, certain isolated light wavelengths are absorbed; the remaining light is perceived as brown.

Most Champagne Diamonds, and especially the most beautiful ones, come from the Argyle Mine in Australia, also known for its rare pink diamonds.

As this information concerning colour origin can also be found on the back of our colour card, any questions can easily be answered when talking to customers.
