TUD|excite and IIT Madras Research Park are committed to assistive technologies
In March, TUD|excite Director Prof. Andreas Pinkwart and the President of IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) in Chennai, India, Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, agreed on the first steps of a collaboration which aims at making them one of the global leaders in the field of assistive technologies (AT). ATs support people with disabilities at work, at home or in sports. It is a field where demographics are creating a growing global demand. IIT Madras and IITMRP have established a center for AT to highlight the transformative power of assistive systems. Artificial intelligence, sensor technology and robotics as well as "digital health", lightweight construction and 3D printing all play key roles here – and they are all fields in which the TUD has significant expertise.
