From September 9th to 13th, 2024, the Graduate Academy and the Postdoc Center are inviting 30 young researchers from the ten EUTOPIA universities to the beautiful island of Schwanenwerder near Berlin for exclusive training and exchange at the EUTOPIA Impact School.

Location and date
The Impact School 2024 will take place from September 9th to 13th in the inspiring surroundings of the historic conference villa of the Evangelische Bildungsstätte on Schwanenwerder, located between Wannsee and Havel, surrounded by a listed park.
There, you will have the opportunity to work on your own scientific texts, practice presentation techniques, and learn with international scientists from various disciplines how to make your research visible and effective beyond your specialist community.
Target group
The Impact School 2024 is aimed at postdocs from all departments. Three exclusive places are available for early career researchers of TU Dresden.
Program
Every day, participants can expect exciting training and input on the topic of science communication:
- Under professional guidance, you will work purposefully on your scientific texts and learn storytelling and presentation techniques.
- You will practice the necessary skills to present your research topic in a variety of academic and non-academic situations.
- You will also have the opportunity to try out valuable rules for communicating with a broad audience and develop your solutions.
- Finally, all participants create their pitch about their research projects and present it to the group.
- In addition to the training sessions, free writing time is planned for participants to work on their articles and publications. Please bring mobile devices (laptops or tablets) and the necessary materials and texts.
- The event will be held in English.
Costs
Participation, accommodation and meals (full board) are free of charge for participants. Travel to and from the event is at your own expense.
