Dear students, dear colleagues, dear friends of the IHI Zittau,
The internationalization of IHI Zittau is progressing: Once again, significantly more international students from (almost) all over the world (only the Australian continent is still missing in our "collection") have enrolled at IHI Zittau compared to last year, including some nations represented at IHI Zittau for the first time, such as Albania, Azerbaijan, Great Britain or Jamaica.
With the new appointments of the Chairs of Responsible Management (Scholz) and Mammalian Diversity (Kühl), as well as the upcoming completion of the appointment process of the Chair of Soil Biodiversity, our team of university professors has been fundamentally renewed (especially since the tenure-track reappointment of colleague Sassen in the field of Environmental Management was not so long ago...). With this new, younger team we can now plan the strategy of IHI Zittau for the future. I am very much looking forward to the cooperation!
The scientific focus of this newsletter issue is the extraordinarily research-strong IHI Chair of Environmental Biotechnology under my deputy, colleague Hofrichter.
Let yourself be surprised by the comprehensive connections of the IHI network!
Enjoy reading!
Yours sincerely
